Asia University [2023 AUC Green Living Campus Proposal Competition] (Student Edition)
Event Purpose:
In line with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this competition encourages students to propose creative ideas and action plans addressing issues such as energy conservation, carbon reduction, ecological environment, climate change, health and well-being, human rights and justice, gender equality, multiculturalism, circular economy, and education quality. The goal is to foster a sustainable and better living environment on campus or in other settings.Organizers:

This competition is open to all students enrolled at Asia University. Teams should consist of 2-5 members, and cross-departmental and interdisciplinary teams are encouraged. Each participant can serve as the leader of only one team, and each team must have one advisor.Proposal Requirements:
Teams should identify issues related to the environment, economy, or society, aligning with the 17 UN SDGs. Proposals must focus on solving relevant problems within the campus or other contexts. Teams should develop concrete action plans aimed at addressing these issues.Competition Format:
The competition will be held in two stages: preliminary and final rounds. Teams that pass the preliminary round (based on written proposal reviews) will proceed to the final round. The final round will involve presenting a proposal through a 5-10 minute video and an on-site presentation during the final event.Preliminary Round:
- Teams must complete and upload the registration form, proposal plan, and authorization documents before the deadline.

- Teams that do not follow the correct format or fail to submit required documents by the deadline will not be considered registered.
- After passing the preliminary qualification review, all proposals will be reviewed by the preliminary committee. The best teams will be selected for the final round.
- Finalists must participate in the entire event (proposal report, video presentation, and presentation slides). If any team members miss the final round without valid reasons approved by the organizers, the team will be disqualified.
Final Round:
- Teams will present on-site with a 5-10 minute video, proposal slides, and an A1 format poster. All materials must be submitted before the deadline.
- Teams will have 10 minutes for their presentation, followed by 5 minutes for Q&A.
- The final rankings and awards will be announced after the review.
- Teams entering the final round must agree to allow the organizers to reproduce, publish, or present their work at university events free of charge.
Popularity Competition:
To encourage participation, a popularity award will be held. After the preliminary selection, the organizers will set up an online voting page, allowing public voting for the finalists. Each person can vote once. The team with the most votes will receive the "Best Popularity Award."Evaluation Criteria:
- The competition will be judged by a panel of internal academic experts at both the preliminary and final stages. The evaluation will consider factors such as completeness, innovation, and feasibility.

Scoring Criteria (subject to consensus among the judges):
- Proposal clarity and relevance to SDGs
- Creativity and originality of the proposed action plans
- Feasibility and impact of implementation
- Overall presentation and communication skills during the final report.

Competition Rewards:
- 1st Place (1 team): Team prize of NT$15,000, along with certificates for the advisor and team members.
- 2nd Place (1 team): Team prize of NT$12,000, along with certificates for the advisor and team members.
- 3rd Place (1 team): Team prize of NT$10,000, along with certificates for the advisor and team members.
- Honorable Mention (3 teams): Team prize of NT$3,000, along with certificates for the advisor and team members.

Popularity Award (5 teams): Team prize of NT$3,000, along with certificates for the advisor and team members.
(Note: The Popularity Award can overlap with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, as well as Honorable Mention.)

All submitted proposals must be created by the participating team members themselves and should not be plagiarized or outsourced. If the proposal infringes upon copyrights, patents, or any other legal regulations, and this is verified, the team will bear legal responsibility. The organizers will revoke their participation and award eligibility, and the awarded prize and certificate must be returned. If any third-party rights are infringed, the participating team is responsible for compensation.

Award-winning teams will have the prize money collected by the team leader, and taxes will be deducted based on applicable income tax laws and withholding rates.

By registering for the competition, participants acknowledge and accept all rules and regulations outlined in the competition guidelines. Participants must pay close attention to official announcements and communications sent via email to ensure their rights and benefits during the competition.

In case of unforeseen circumstances that prevent the competition from proceeding, the organizers reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the event.
